Between 1946 and 1947, it acquired 32 ex-US Navy J2F-4, J2F-5 and J2F-6 Ducks , with the last examples remaining in use until 1958. Comandante Espora Air Naval Base was constructed in 1939 and is the main base of Argentine Naval Aviation.
