Description: Express Jet Airlines started operations in 1987 as part of a group of commuter airlines secured by Texas Air Corporation/Continental Airlines. In 2002 they sought corporate independence from Continental and in 2007 Express Jet began operations under its own name throughout the U.S. The skyrocketing oil prices in 2008 ended Express Jet’s independence and although the airline partnered with Delta Airlines for a time in 2007 Delta ended their relationship in 2008. Most notably, it was with United Airlines that gave Express Jet their longest partnership from 2010 until the global pandemic of 2020 when United ended its contract. Express Jet continued to push forward and focused on a relaunch in 2021, however unsuccessful filed for bankruptcy in August of 2022 ceasing all flight operations. The Captain Wing 2nd Issue of Express Jet Airlines, made in the United States, is a rare find for those who are passionate about badges and pins.
