Description: This is a handmade replica of the iconic "Feed the Birds" Globe seen in Disney's 1964 classic film: "Mary Poppins". To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Mary Poppins, this globe is being released as a numbered run of 60 pieces. Each globe purchased during the run will come with a numbered certificate card. General Information: This globe is made of glass and resin. Inside the globe is a resin cathedral and small white "birds" flying around it. The replica is to be maintained as any other snow globe for longevity. *Please note, since each piece is handmade and painted, each will slightly vary* Replica Details: The most ambitious and tumulus project I have worked on for this shop by-far; This piece is the culmination of years of research, sketching, designing, and sculpting, attempting to create the most authentic and screen-accurate replica of the beautiful globe. Disney released an official commemorative globe over 20 years ago, which sold-out. These were not accurate in appearance and are rare to come by today. My piece is meticulously designed after photographs of the original film prop (which are scarce). Though engrained in Disney fans' minds, the famed globe only appears on film for a few seconds. Using screen-grabs and any behind-the-scenes material I could find, I newly designed what the original globe might have looked like when Julie Andrews first held it. The Walt Disney Archives have also shared images of the globe they currently hold (believed to be a stand-in and not seen on screen), which I have used for material and dimension reference. Knowing what we know about the existing prop, this replica has been made to be as accurate as possible while making it a long-lasting collectible; Not just a movie prop. I have also added a musical feature to the globe as an extra touch of magic. The gold base will have a music box inside that plays the loved "Feed the Birds" tune. I am confident and take pride in the fact that this is the most accurate Prop Replica of Mary Poppins' "Feed the Birds" Globe anywhere.
