The American Vintage II 1973 Stratocaster is equipped with three Pure Vintage ‘73 Staggered Pole pickups, a large headstock with dual string tree, a convenient Bullet-style truss rod nut located in the headstock and a three-bolt neck plate with Micro-Tilt. The 1973 “C”-shaped maple neck with a 7.25”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 vintage tall frets evokes the playability of an instrument from that time, as if it were back in 1973. Developed to celebrate Fender’s iconic guitar shape, the American Vintage II 1973 Stratocaster features an ash body and two finishes: Lake Placid Blue and Mocha. The Mocha model is the first Stratocaster to feature a black pickguard.
