Description: This is a beautiful and Fine Antique Early California Landscape Oil Painting on Artist Board, depicting a lovely jewel-toned plein air image of the Sorrento Valley region of San Diego, and its surrounding landscape. Lavender hued peaks, green hills, and brightly colored foliage punctuate the scene. This artwork dates to the 1930's and is signed partially illegibly in the lower left corner. I can make out the last name: "Smith." Perhaps Jack Wilkinson Smith? Additionally, this artwork is titled and dated on the top edge of the verso: "Sorrento Valley 1930's." Approximately 11 1/2 x 13 3/8 inches (including frame.) Actual artwork is approximately 10 x 12 inches. Very good condition for age, with some light speckles of soiling to the top of the painting, and mild scuffing and edge wear to the original period gilded wood frame. Acquired in Pasadena, California. If you like what you see, I encourage you to make an Offer. Please check out my other listings for more wonderful and unique artworks!
