Fine Antique Shell Cameo Pendant of Antinous Braschi 15k

Description: Offered is a Fine large antique carved shell cameo locket pendant. It features the subject of Antinous Braschi, lover of the emperor Hadrian. His face is beautiful, with a rounded chin, fierce eyes and a muscled neck, the coloring of the layered shell accentuating the details of his head dress. The cameo is mounted in a tested 15k glass backed locket with a huge bale that could accommodate a larger chain. Display chain (not included) is 8mm. This piece measures 2 3/4” long including the bale. Not including the bale it measures 2” by 1 3/4”. The bale has an opening of 10 by 15mm. It weighs 30.1 grams. This piece has a small dent to the back of the frame at 6:00, and an internal line at 9:00 to11:00 but looks worse in the photos than it does in person. The ding in the frame is not noticeable from the front. Always a collector’s favorite this is a fine Antinous in a great setting.
