Description: I am selling one of my favorite Chinese vases of very good quality. At auction it was listed as early to mid-20th Century. I first thought this vase was of the Republic period in China-but it is far better quality than that period which then proceeded Mao's cultural revolution. So I think earlier.Given this the red ink reighn mark is likely apocryphal as it is a qianlong mark-and I don't think this piece is that old. However this porcelain piece is fine quality with snow white background and five color. The dragon (which is benevolant in Chinese) seems to be increasing the water for the koi who is swimming below. The dragon is producing more clouds. Its shape being tianqiuping (globular) It is a ground yellow famille style with a long neck. The piece is almost 12 inches tall and about nine inches across at the bottom so it is quite substantial. The design around the neck is beautiful and the glaze stops precisely at the feet. Stunning work by its maker and kiln. This dragon appears to be creating more water and clouds and the koi seems quite happy about this.I will send this piece UPS insured which will cost about 40.00. If shipping is under that I will refund the difference. I do not trust the post office to deliver this piece in the excellent condition it is in. No chips/cracks or craciture.I will send the old wooden stand I have it on. The stand is very old but it holds the piece very well.I have not had this piece appraised but I am certain it is not a new cheapie that I see on Ebay sometimes. Feel free to ask questions before you buy it.
