Description: Boot Lace Fire Starter is a 1.5 inch cotton plug dipped in paraffin wax making it waterproof. The plug is placed inside a heat shrink tube with green paracord looped out of tube on both ends for boot lace eyelets. The kit comes with four plugs . Place on your hiking boots and forget it’s there only weighing .18 oz per plug. The plug is waterproof and lights easily with open flame or ferro rod sparks. Just remove plug by cutting tubing on top of paracord length so not to cut ziplock bag that striker surface is enclosed in. Twist back and forth until it breaks in half exposing those inside cotton fibers. Each plug has a 4 minute average burn time to help light your fire bundle. I recommend placing one on each boot incase a second fire is needed later. I have placed two Coghlans waterproof matches along with a small square of match striker surface placed in a small ziplock baggy inside the tubing along with the cotton plug for emergency situations where a ferro rod or lighter is not available.
