Description: Offered here is a fine silkscreen print, no 40/74, entitled “Thundering Herd” and signed by the artist, Garry Meeches. The print was purchased in the early 1980s from the Artic Art Gallery in Denver, Colorado. The print is shown double matted and framed in a mid-century modern style, but this offering is solely for the unmatted print. The visual print image measures approximately 19” high x 27” wide with the full, unmatted print being roughly22” x 30”. The print appears to be in very good condition. As I recall, there may be some slight mat markings from a previous framing, but those are not visible in its current state.Garry Meeches (Saulteaux) was born in 1957 on the Long Plains Reserve in southern Manitoba. His style is more reminiscent of the plains style of art which is very popular in the United States. Garry spent time in Vancouver and Minneapolis while developing his stylistic art. His entry into the art world was met with great success. Please note that I am offering to sell and ship only the print without the mat/frame since the size could make shipping prohibitively expensive. But I would be willing to get a quote for sending the framed version or coordinate local pickup of the framed artwork. Please ask any questions before bidding. Reasonable offers will be considered.
