Flame Violet / Peacock Plant Details:Episcias are sometimes called Flame violets or Peacock plants and are a South American relative of the African violet. This variety is known as “Blue Nile”. It is well suited for tropical terrariums / vivariums. Planted on the ground it will quickly spread and form dense clumps. It can also be mounted in a background by packing its roots with damp sphagnum. Blooms often in good conditions. Please note that this plant is not accustomed to ambient air and will require a gradual acclimation period if you intend to grow it as a houseplant. As a houseplant, the temperature should be above 55 degrees or the foliage will likely spot or die with cooler temperatures. Keep away from cold drafts, water with room temperature water and provide indirect light. This is a less common / rare variety with especially attractive foliage and an unusual flower color of blue- lavender with a touch of yellow in the center.
