Loney left the band in 1971 and was replaced as co-leader by Chris Wilson. After Loney left, the band's emphasis shifted from rock toward British Invasion power pop. In addition to the band's role in the advancement of power pop, the Flamin' Groovies have also been called one of the forerunners of punk rock. One Night Stand is an album by the Flamin' Groovies. It was released in 1987 and produced by Cyril Jordan, who also provided the cover art.
