Description: This listing is for a service: Football game ball prep. I am a high school coach and have been prepping balls for years. I have prepped balls for many high school, colleges, and NFL quarterbacks who routinely come to me for game ball prep. As you know, when you purchase a new ball the ball comes with a coating. This coating makes it extremely slippery and hard to catch. The ball is perfectly usable as is, but difficult to deal with: slippery and rock hard. And usually by the time the ball is broken in and the coating as worn off through play, the ball has now lost all of its dimples and is on it's last legs. That is where this service is beneficial. When we prep balls it is not for cosmetics but for a purpose. We want to take that coating off and soften the ball but leave as much of the dimple as possible so you get a game ball that that leather that is soft and grippy with dimples. There are many videos on youtube that will show you how to do this. Some are spot on and some have questionable tactics. At the end of the day you want a ball that is soft, grippy, and still has dimples. Through trial and error and speaking to many NCAA division 1 and NFL equipment managers, I have finalized a process that creates this desired effect. The process takes a bit of time so my turnaround is 1-2 weeks once I receive the ball. PROCESS: (1) Win auction - purchase service with return shipping. (2) Send ball to me. Address provided after payment. (3) Give me 1-2 weeks and I will ship the ball back to you. Disclaimers: -The leather on the footballs are all over the place. Some come with really pronounced dimples and some already seem worn. I can't control this. We routinely buy 10+ Wilson balls and unfortunately they are all over the place. -Cosmetics. Some balls you see that are mudded are perfectly one mudded color...after doing 100+ balls, this is impossible to guarantee. Sometimes it comes out cosmetically great, sometimes the muddle is a tad splotched. Again, this is pretty out of my control as the coating applied by the factory is sometimes uneven. I've even confirmed this with a football maker. So the pictures of perfect balls - those are the best ones. Also NFL and NCAA teams have 100+ balls to choose from so they always pick the top 5% to be game balls. I'm prepping these for play not for looks. Any questions please feel free to contact me. I offer quantity discounts as well.
