Description: Up for sale is a framed ebony hand carved Heritage mask that was given to an African Art Foundation from an artist in Nigeria. The frame has a few small scratches that can be seen in the pictures, and the matte has a couple stained spots in 2 of the corners that I also captured in pictures. The frame is 15 inches wide and 18.5 inches tall. The mask is 7 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide. I have several other pieces of art that I will be listing over the next several weeks. I have written a little blurb below to explain where all this art has come from and how I came to acquire it. Thanks for looking and feel free to ask any questions, I will try to answer to the best of my ability! In 2008, a well respected and important AfricanTribalChief got with members of the City of Atlanta, political officials and State of Georgia hierarchyto secure grants and funding for an African Cultural museum in Atlanta. In 2009 ,to muchfanfare, the Atlanta AfricaWorld Museum and Center was opened at 134 Peachtree Street Tower Lobby in Midtown Atlanta. The grand opening was attended by the likes of civil rights leaders John Lewis, Andrew Young, and even Nelson Mandela. It was a big deal for both the City of Atlanta and the Local African Community. Some short 5 years later, it seems that the grants had run out and funds for the museum had been mismanaged to the point that the museum was forced to close. As the museum was privately held as a 503-C, it was not owned by the City of Atlanta and all items from museum were put into warehouse storage. Once there, the owner(s) sold off some extremely high value objects and art over the years .As of Nov 2023, the owner(s) could no longer pay or just didn't want to pay the warehouse storage fees on these items. Consequently, the balance of some 1500 pieces of Fine African Art were purchased at auction by my company. This incredible collection features both framed and unframed original oil on canvas from 18in to 7ft, mixed media works, stamped aluminum framed art, massive incredible embroideredart both framed and unframed, detailed metal art and wood carvings from the best hand carved wood artists in Africa, from 7in tall to one piece that is 7ft tall. There is also several pieces of signed IvoryArt that is under the 200 gram legal limit in the United States. There is even a 7000 year old Terracotta head of a boy with tribal markings. Just an unbelievable collection that goes well beyond this brief description. We have several pictures that can provide a scope of our holdings, but that is still just a sample of all the art and artifacts that we have obtained,
