Description: On offer, we have an aquatint etching from Spanish master Francisco Goya. "Mejor es holgar" (It's better to relax) was first printed circa 1799 for Los Caprichos. It is plate number 73 from Los Caprichos. We have no way of knowing the date of this print. The etching is 8 1/2" X 6" and the frame is 19 3/4" X 15" X 1". It weighs just under 3 pounds. This is in excellent condition. The print is bold and clear with strong contrasts and no sign of wear. The etching has a nice, deep imprint. The gold painted wood frame has a few nicks and scratches. This has not been examined out of the frame. As I am not an expert, on art please view my photographs for more description. This is from my friend who is moving to a much smaller home and parting with many of his treasures. Your last picture shows this with its companion plate 11. They display nicely together.
