Game Informer Magazine (Issue #1, Fall 1991) Brand New - Unread

Description: Hello, up for your consideration is the incredibly rare first issue of Game Informer magazine, released in the fall of 1991 by Funco. The issue is brand new, has never been read, placed on any shelves or stacked with other magazines. This issue was ordered directly from GI’s back issue catalog in 2009 when the publication’s archives were still active. Since the issue was discreetly sent in a large envelope, there are no address labels marring the genuine aesthetic of the magazine. The issue has always been safely kept in a comic bag and cardboard sleeve for the entirety of its lifespan to prevent it from bending, warping or any other cosmetic damage. I originally planned to display the issue in a frame or acrylic casing, but never got around to it. I wore a new pair of nitrile gloves before removing the magazine from the comic bag for the first time ever, carefully turning and handling each page for the sole purpose of taking more detailed photos as to not leave anything to the buyer’s imagination. Barring some exceptionally minimal creasing on the front page that can only be seen under direct lighting (see the upper right corner, lower right corner and towards the middle edge where Sonic’s shoe is), you’d be hard pressed to find this issue in better condition anywhere else. 33 years later, this historic launch issue remains in brand new condition, completely free of shelf wear and sun exposure in a smoke-free adult home.
