Description: For sale: my baby! 1999 Gibson Les Paul Standard (1950s reissue)in cherry sunburst, made at the Nashville plant on April 7th, 1999 (productionNumber 145). Original Gibson pickups, pickupswitch, and pots. Pickups are hot, yielding some overdrive on a tube amp without pedals when volume knobs set high. This has been the main player in my arsenalfor years, but I am selling it as I have discovered the 1960s slimline neck isa better fit for my hand. This guitar istough to part with, though, as all of the classic Les Paul tones freely emergewithout coaxing. In very good condition for a 25-yearold player’s guitar. Solid mahogany bodyfrom the “good wood” years, weighing in at a hearty 10.25 pounds (by doctor’sscale). There are minor cosmetic flawsto be aware of which are pointed out in the pictures (see the three pictureswith fingers in them). Sonically powerful and visuallystriking, this versatile and solid instrument will help you to express yourselfin the way you want. Few guitars havethe universal recognition that is commanded by a Gibson Les Paul. The new ones are good, but the older onescome with a little bit of magic. Don’tlet this one pass you by.
