Description: PLEASE SEE PHOTOS and condition description. And please contact me with any questions. I am happy to answer them, or send additional photos. This is a copy of the second volume in the three-volume "Go-Ahead" juvenile adventure series, by the prolific 19th-century boys writer, Harry Castlemon: Go-Ahead, or the Fisher-Boy's Motto, Porter & Coates, Philadelphia AND a co-print with R. W. Carroll & Company, Cincinnati. Copyright listed as 1868, but this is clearly a much later printing. Based on the list of books on the front-end list, this probably was printed about 1895-6 (as the last in this series was already published then, and some of the other series by Castlemon are not listed). The imprint under the name Porter & Coates is listed as active from 1867-1895. Also: R. W. Carroll & Company put of the first three of the Castlemon series. While Carroll died in 1897, I'm not sure when the company ceased publishing. This is an interesting, and handsome copy, but it needs some moderate repair I carefully wrap and protect each book, and ship in sturdy boxes.
