Description: Vintage United Hatters Cap & Millinery, Union Made Flat Cap Cabbie Golf Plaid 1930's - 1980s This vintage men's flat cap dates from between 1934 and 1983. In 1934 the United Hatters of North America merged with the Cloth Hat, Cap, and Millinery Workers International Union to form the United Hatters, Cap, and Millinery Workers International Union. It folded in 1983. I don't have any exact date on this cap but from comparisons with other tags, this one seems to be an earlier production from these makers. It gives the vibe of a 1940s New York Cabbie. The cap has a stiff peak (visor) in the front and a silver colored snap attaching the front to the brim. The fabric is soft, but there is no label as to whether it is wool or cotton. Size 7Side to side - one edge of brim to the other measures just under 7.5 inchesFront to back - 9 inches Sold as is; see pictures for more detailed description of item.
