I mean if you're like me, and you have read & owned and/or own every single DeadBase ever issued - then, you already well-know some of the simple rules to go by ... at least in the mind of my Dead Head ! Firstly, if you own a ' Pre ' DeadBase IV ( Four ) copy, then ... you are coming up short on 1990 Setlists - which, are truly vital - at least in my mind ... but, if you go with XI ( 9 ), X ( 10 ), or XI ( 11 ) - then, you are all-good on the Grateful Dead Set lists - since those were the latest issues, including the 1995 Sets - in at least some form. But ... there really is one criteria, which I've always lived by - once ! this feature was finally available ... with, that feature being the inclusion of both ! " WeirBase " !! & " GarciaBase " !!! - which ... this here DeadBase VI ( 6 ) copy does include !!! 564 Pages of Grateful Dead ... and also vital Jerry Garcia Band(s) & Bob Weir Band(s) info & knowledge - which is really important too ! I believe DeadBase V ( 5 ) - ( issued in 1991 ? ) was indeed the very 1st that featured these, but ... the ' GarciaBase ' & ' WeirBase ' additions were not always included in some of the later editions. In other words, I think even DeadBase X skips these ? - due to space-issues. So, at least to me -- this here Dead Base VI is one of the Best ! that was ever-issued. It's got everything, or almost-everything that you need ... all the way through the end of the 1992 Touring-Years ! - for the Grateful Dead, for the Jerry Garcia Band, and all the Bobby Weir stuff too - which, at the time was the Stellar ! Bob & Rob era stuff. So, all you are really missing is the 1993, 1994 & 1995 Tours - as this edition was issued in 1992 ! But, my goodness did the Authors ( John Scott / Mike Dolgushkin / Stu Nixon ) have the process down-pact at this point ! This is more info & knowledge then you even think that 564 pages is capable of handling ?!? But, it does !!! At least for me personally, I always ! though that this DeadBase VI ( 6 ) was one of the Absolute-Best ! of the entire edition series. And, it was also really pretty-much in the smack dab ' middle ' of the DeadBase creation era - so, it is way-beyond right on in this Era. Just think back ? I mean in 1992 ? The Grateful Dead were Huge !!! - and were like the largest Live-touring act anywhere around. So, there was a serious market for a vital reference book of this nature, and of them all ... This ! was one of the best ones to have. I mean just think back ... as this was indeed the Glorious ! Pre-Internet & Pre-Cell Phone era that we are talking about here ... and pretty much Every ! Deadhead had to have their DeadBase !!! Sure, this is totally a serious piece of Grateful Dead and Rock & Roll recorded History ! But, with this Book in your hands ... I think you will find that it is every bit as useful as it was back then ... in 1992 ! Hey, I mean I distinctly remember catching the last Oakland run listed inside this Book 12/11/92, 12/12/92. 12/13/92, etc. and all I found my self thinking when I read these lists was ... Where's a ' Time-Machine ' ??! Ha ! Hey, I mean even Dick ! picks one of the Shows from this '92 Winter Tour Oaktown run - for a Dick's Picks release ... Dick's Picks #27 !!! Grate-Times indeed, and all-over the place ... in Space !! Enjoy !!!!! This Book, at least in my mind is one of the Most-Essential ! Grateful Dead Book releases of all-time. And, just to think how-much of their time & Dead Fan souls ! that John Scott, Stu Nixon & Mike Dolgushkin put into these DeadBase projects. Way-way Beyond " Worthwhile Work " - as I often joke that I've read more " Dead Base " over the decades then any other Book(s). And, that's ok by me ... as I'm darn proud of it ! Just check out the ' Contents ' Page photo proved here ( Photo # 4 ), and you can catch an accurate glimpse of what all is inside. All the Setlists from 1965 to 1992 for The Grateful Dead !!! - Garcia !! & Weir !! - with, just about any Fact or Updated ' Stats ! ' that you could-ever wish for. As a whole ... this DeadBase VI is and will always be worth it's weight in Deadhead-Knowledge-Gold !!! And, what tops that ?! So, Hey Now !!! ... & Enjoy !!!!! The Book itself is in Good/Very Good condition otherwise ( with the exception of the highlighting markings mentioned ) - with creasing on the soft cover, and some light to medium signs of wear.
