Description: I have for sale an impressive industrial age exhibition medal from Great Britain. The medal is made of white metal, it is three inches in diameter and looks to be in original uncirculated condition. It comes in the original box that is very worn & with broken corners. It was made at the Heaton mint and the medalist was Thomas Ottley. On one side at the bottom rim it reads EXHIBITION OF INDUSTRY OF ALL NATIONS, LONDON, 1851. In the center it shows a view of the Crystal Palace and below the palace it reads PROPOSED BY H.R.H. PRINCE ALBERT. - DESIGNED BY - JOSEPH PAXTON ESQ rf. F.L.S. - ERECTED BY - FOX, HENDERSON & CO. Above the palace in oval frames are the bust of Queen Victoria & Prince Albert. The other side shows Britannia standing and holding a bee skip on top of a globe and the other hand holding a laurel branch. There are several symbols of industry and transportation in the scene.
