Packed with the sound, style, and features that made the original legendary, the '59 Gentlman delivers a responsive and incredibly articulate sound. A pair of TV Jones PUs (Super'Tron Classic Plus rear PU and Super'Tron front PU) respond to every stroke with well-defined and eloquent tone. The newly revised control layout features volume, master volume and tone controls for the rear PU, creating countless tonal variations. The addition of the new "Squeezebox" paper-in-oil condenser results in an incredibly refined, vintage-like treble. The standard "U"-shaped maple neck features a 12-inch (304.8 mm) radius ebony fingerboard with 22 frets and 22 vintage-style small frets. This is a finger picker's dream. The locking bar bridge works in conjunction with the Bigsby B6GWVT vibrato tailpiece for stable tuning. A genuine vintage-style bone nut allows the strings to slide freely without being restricted by jammed grooves. Aged 5-ply laminate figured maple top with painted F-holes, vibrato unit with wire handle, gold G-arrow control knob, aged white binding with black trim, polished A nitro cellulose lacquer finish with pearloid thumbnail inlays on the fingerboard. All the classic '59 Gentlman features are here, including the Gretsch logo, thick gold vintage plexi pickguard, and Grover Imperial gold tuners with "butterbean" buttons.
