Description: This trinket box (or trinket bowl) with lid is absolutely gorgeous! From the estate of my great aunt, this piece is hand-made in Italy and signed 'TM Benedetti' on the top/lid of the box. The bottom of the bowl is marked with 'Arte in Ceramica, Lav. a Mano' - meaning 'Art in Ceramic, Made by Hand.' The piece originates from Harmony Taormina, made in porcelain/ceramic - likely from the 1970's. The detail on this piece is incredible: gorgeous and very realistic looking berries and foliage are done beautifully and feature natural-looking colors and tones. The piece measures approximately 5" across the bottom and approximately 4" high. There are no chips, no cracks, no crazing. There is a tiny spot or two on the very edge of one/two of the leaves where the pigment is absent: the area is glazed and not rough, but is not pigmented, so the white porcelain/ceramic shows through. Very tiny and almost impossible to see. This beautiful box would be a wonderful way to present a special holiday gift of bracelet, necklace, earrings or ring!
