Description: Handmade Copper Proofing Parrot You are bidding on one handmade copper proofing parrot. These are great to enhance your distilling process by seeing live, while you are running what the proof of your distillate is. You will need to purchase separately, a proofing hydrometer (not included). Each parrot is handmade with high quality copper, lead free solder and water soluble flux. These parrots will bring you a lifetime of use and enjoyment or purchase for a great conversation piece of early distilling equipment history. Each unit comes fully assembled, 3 finishes available, diamond frosted, polished and unpolished and includes an optional to use wooden stand. The wooden stands are sanded and ready for paint, stain or leave in the raw. After each unit is assembled, it is then given a hot bath (160 degree F water, then soaked in vinegar to help ensure product is as clean as possible.) After a hot bath and a soak, we then apply 1 of 3 available finishes:Polished - beautifully hand polished while wearing clean cloth gloves, nice and shiny look.Unpolished - just what it says, no polish, just a hot bath and a vinegar soak. (our most popular finish)Diamond Frosted - we use a unique diamond mixture to give the copper a freshly frosted look. Please note, the Diamond Frosted finish is not the most durable of the 3 finishes. It can be scratched easier than the other 2 and is not "field repairable". If your unit becomes scratched, please contact us to see about having your parrot "refrosted". Since these are handmade, no two are exactly alike!!!
