Description: St Isidore the Farmer Single Decade Rosary The Patron Saint of rural communities, ranches, livestock, farms and gardeners, St Isidore is always ready to help out the guy or girl who isn't afraid to get their hands dirty - the hard-working people who grow our food, whether you work on a large ranch, family farm, or garden plot! So when I made this chaplet I chose natural semi-precious gemstone beads that remind me of the great outdoors! The 7/8" nickel silver medal and the 1-3/4" silver-toned San Damiano crucifix were made in Italy; the chaplet was made by me in the USA. The Crucifix has one half of the Prayer of Peace by St Francis of Assisi on the back in English (we include a card with the full prayer plus info on the crucifix). All the beads are 8 mm, smooth, round, natural, genuine semi-precious gemstones. The ten Hail Mary beads are alternating Picture Jasper and mottled green Tree Agates. Picture Jasper which is a brown stone with markings that seem to suggest pictures in the stone. The single Our Father is a Blue Adventurine. About 10" long, comes gift boxed and with the following:carry pouchrosary pamphletDivine Mercy pamphletThe 15 Promises of Mary cardSt Isidore the Farmer prayer cardSt Francis of Assisi prayer cardSan Damiano Crucifix / Prayer of Peace cardgift bag and tissue paper to hold it all for giving as a gift. This is a great gift for the gardener or farmer on your list; or perhaps you need a little help with your own green thumb? St Isidore was a poor farmer of Spain, who married a woman who also became a saint. They had one child who died young, which they took as a sign from God and thereafter pledged to live in total continence. During his life, people who knew St Isidore witnessed many miracles associated with this holy farmer. There was the multiplication of food - once when he fed a poor group of pilgrims and another when he was feeding a flock of starving birds. He would go to Mass every morning and often be late to work because of it - he worked as a laborer for a landowner- but angels began his work for him until he showed up!! The prayer cards which come with our rosaries, medals and pictures are home-made, created using a "greeting card" program on a computer and printed in full color on nice quality paper. Although they are not like the usual smaller professionally printed prayer cards, most of our customers prefer them since they are like a pamphlet with 4 "pages" and several images, prayers, patronages and often other information about the saint or Catholic devotion.
