Description: Arizona Custom GripsHAWES WESTERN MARSHAL1873 SINGLE ACTION ARMY STYLE REVOLVERS~ Exclusive ~ MAGNA-TUSK™Aged ivory GRIPSMilled out of a solid block of Magna-Tusk, denser and heavier than regular Ivory or Stag. See below for details.~~~~~two-PIECE (with SCREWHOLE) STYLETHIS AUCTION IS FOR OUR TWO-PIECE (SCREWHOLE) STYLE GRIPS. SEE BELOW.********ONE-PIECE VS. TWO-PIECE STYLE GRIPS:A Choice for Every User! Two-Piece style grips incorporate a visible screw and screwhole, allowing easy and quick removal for cleaning or maintenance of your revolver. One-piece style grips do not use a screw but instead use an internal spacer. Both styles are traditional and historical designs and both were originally used on early Colts, so it is a matter of personal preference. Both styles of our grips will interchange and work on either style of grip frame. See below.One-Piece style grips (i.e., grips which do not have a visible screwhole in the grips) incorporate a user installed spacer (included with the grips) between the grip panels, as seen on many of the early Colts. The spacer is sent unmounted to ensure optimum fit with your revolver, with simple, quick installation which takes about one minute or so per grip. Fully illustrated instructions are included. This results in a rock-tight fit, without the need of a screw. Preferred by many collectors for their clean lines and traditional look. One-Piece style grips are removed by removing the three backstrap screws, and pulling the grip and backstrap backwards. Reinstallation is in reverse order. Alternatively, our Two-Piece style grips (i.e., grips with a visible screw and screwhole) offer the superior convenience of quick grip removal. They include a free Conversion kit, allowing their use on revolvers that are currently using one-piece style grips that do not have a grip pin. The conversion kit replaces the need for a grip pin and is actually a stronger design, and allows the grips to lock up tight on the frame, allowing no movement. This requires no modification to your revolver and gives you the advantage of the ease of maintenance of Two-Piece grips, while preserving the integrity of your revolver in original factory condition. Two-Piece style grips were also used on many of the early Colts, and are a traditional and iconic historical design, offering a distinctive look and convenience preferred by many collectors.Fully illustrated, detailed instructions are included with each set of grips. 01042300~~~~~A Short History of the Hawes Western Marshal RevolversFrom the early 1950’s to the 1970’s, the Hollywood Western was the undisputed king of television and the silver screen. Television shows such as Gunsmoke, Bonanza, The Virginian, Rawhide, and Wagon Train, and many others too numerous to mention, were some of the most watched TV productions ever made. At the same time the Hollywood movie industry was also in full swing, releasing some of the most memorable Western genre movie productions in Hollywood history. Several enterprising firearms firms capitalized on the Single Action craze which arose largely due to the public’s fascination with the lore of the Old West, which to a very large degree continues unabated to this day.In the late 1960’s through the 1970’s, Hawes Firearms Inc., based in Los Angeles, California, imported and marketed a popular series of Single Action Army style revolvers known as the Western Marshal series. These revolvers were manufactured in Germany by the J.P. Sauer & Sohn firm and imported primarily by Hawes. What these will fit:These grips WILL FIT the following Hawes “Western Marshal” series revolvers: ●Western Marshal;●Chief Marshal;●Federal Marshal;●Deputy Marshal;●Silver City Marshal;●Texas Marshal;●Montana Marshal; What these will NOT fit:Please note that these will NOT fit the Great Western Arms revolvers manufactured in the United States by the Great Western Arms Company of Los Angeles from 1954 to 1964. Sauer & Sohn) which incorporate a much taller gripframe. Also, these will NOT fit any other make of revolver, including any of the Italian replicas (such as Pietta, Uberti, and Armi San Marco), nor any of the Ruger or Colt manufactured revolvers. Please email if you have any questions, are unsure, or cannot find what you need. For an additional charge, custom fitting is an option. Vastly superior to standard bonded ivory or stag found on most factory and other aftermarket grips, Magna-Tusk™ is capable of withstanding the heaviest recoil and impact, and is the toughest alternative grip material available today, while still retaining the pristine look of real ivory or stag. It is rock-solid, stable, and water, chemical, and oil resistant. It is flame and heat resistant, and is entirely void-free, with over 10x the strength, durability, and impact resistance of alternative materials. Unlike with real ivory or stag, there is no routine care and maintenance involved, with no danger of it drying out and cracking if not maintained properly or if left in the heat. It is filled with premium natural compounds to produce outstanding aesthetic properties and mechanical performance. When aged with our natural aging process, it takes on the equivalent of a 100-year-old patina, with subtle grain details which many experts cannot tell apart from the real thing. In addition, the material has a fine grain structure, which holds intricate detail for carvings, artistic relief work, etc., found on many historic grips. 08292000 About Our Aging Process: We go to great efforts to ensure that our Aged Ivory or Stag not only looks similar to, but in fact looks identical to the real thing. Our Magna-Tusk blanks will produce an aged Ivory grip unlike any other material made today. Our aged grips feature an authentic aged patina, just like the originals, with a process incorporating concentrated U.V. light (the essential aging property in natural sunlight), along with a developer/control agent that is put on the grips to carefully control U.V. absorption, in a sealed, high-oxygen environment to accelerate the natural aging process. Through this aging process, these grips become beautifully mottled, variegated, and weathered just like old, antique Ivory, and incorporate other authentic details found on original old Ivory as seen on many of the revolvers which belonged to gunfighters and lawmen of the Old West. As with real aged Ivory, Magna-Tusk develops a variegated patina due to its authentic grain structure, and natural aging produces an authentic appearance and genuine patina which extends into and below the surface. Not only does this give it the appearance of authenticity and depth, but this surface will not chip, crack, or peel like a superficially applied coating. With Magna-Tusk aged grips, most experts cannot tell them apart from a decades-old or even a centuries-old original. While the quality difference is somewhat noticeable in the photos, the difference is even more apparent when seen and handled in person. Many of our repeat sales are made by the very customers we sell to, who take their grips to the range, where our grips are immediately seen and noticed by others. If you are interested in ordering grips for a Brace of pistols, please order both sets together, and we will ensure a better matchup when selecting pairs. Dense, heavy, and solid, Magna-Tusk grips are in a class all their own. With our exclusive aging process, these grips are outstanding right out of the box, and will continue to improve over time. The more these grips are handled and used, the better they look! 08292000 Please note that the photo used is a stock photo (a sample pair). Yours will appear similar to these. Customer satisfaction is important to us – we guarantee your complete satisfaction with every purchase!!
