This print is 16 of 25 of the Hors De Commerce prints. Info about Hors De Commerce or H/C, according to Art Town Gifts website;"H/C stands for Hors De Commerce, or not for sale. These are prints made extra to the edition and the artist proofs that the artist intended to give away as presents or simply not for sale. Given the fact that there are very few of these, over time and especially if the artist becomes famous, the Hors De Commerce prints have a higher commercial and collector value than those within the numbered edition". This framed print comes with a Certificate of Authenticity (Shown in the third picture). This COA was done by Image international of Hawaii. The bottom of the COA states "The replacement cost of this piece, for insurance purposes, as of February 4, 1992 is $7,000". *** NOTE - The only negatives some holes in the paper on the back side. It appears that someone pushed there fingers through the paper when they were moving the picture frame, and some nicks in places on the frame. There is one gouge on the side of the frame about 1/4" by 3/8". The Frame otherwise is in good condition and looks very nice with this print. These negatives are shown in the last two pictures. Information about the artwork; This outstanding suite has been executed on paper made exclusively for Otsuka's Graphics. Its fibers are 100% neutral pH rag, equal to the strictest museum standards. Made in double thickness, it optimizes the absorption of colors and allows the incorporation of sophisticated embossing techniques. A silk texture has been applied to the surface of every image, and a mother of pearl coating in the fiber recreates the iridescent quality of the fabrics upon which Otsuka paints. The printing of this edition has been accomplished with superlative expertise. Each impression involves the use of several combined techniques: lithography, sculptural embossing, metal-foil and mezzotint stamping. In harmony they have provided an exquisite work of art, as faithful to Otsuka's original painting as possible. Most of the items I sell are estate finds, and are presented to you in, as is, as found condition. They are described to the best of my knowledge. Some wear is to be expected, unless described as flawless or mint. I can't know everything about every item I offer, I do inspect each item and list all known flaws or damage. So please take a good look at the photos and ask questions if need be. Thanks for looking!#A58/d LBA5 9-6-18
