The first worship service was held on Palm Sunday afternoon, April 12, 1950 at the former Oreland Baptist Church on Camp Hill Road. Formal organization of Oreland Presbyterian Church took place on November 19, 1950 with a congregation of 121 persons. The first building, now our Fellowship Hall, was dedicated in June of 1951. It was used as a sanctuary until the erection o9f the present santuary. The tower and education-library section of the building was added in 1952. The remaining Christian Education area was completed in 1956. In 1957 a manse was constructed on the church property. The present sanctuary was dedicated Sunday, December 7, 1969. In 1989 purchase of adjacent property enlarged our site by 50% to approximately 3 acres. In 1991, new classrooms and offices were added in addition to extensive building renovations and expansion of the parking lot. The organizing pastor, Rev. James C Caraher, served the church during our first 12 years. The Rev. Charles K. Murray, Jr. was called by the congregation in January 1963 and served fruitfully until retirement in October 1992. Our Senior pastor, the Rev. Jim A. Farrell, began his service to Christ at OPC in August 1994. 8 1/8" l x 5½" w x ¾" d Previously owned - gently displayed - no wood or paint chipsActual item photographed - questions...please ask before purchase Paying and Shipping Details: Payment to be received by seller within 7 days of final bid, no exceptions.
