Description: PINES CLUB The Pine Club is known for using ten different chips ranging in value from $30-$250. The Pines was built in the mid-1940s and was owned by J.H. and Katherine McDonald. This was a white concrete structure located on Highway 5 North, three miles from town and across the highway from where the Belvedere Club was. The building consisted of a restaurant, bandstand, dance floor with a separate room for gambling. During a raid in 1952 the newspaper reported gambling equipment seized included seven table games, blackjack, roulette, dice and chuck-a-luck. In 1959 under new ownership, it was reported the club had three roulette wheels, four dice games, two chuck-a-luck games and five blackjack tables with 11 slot machines.
