The John van Druten play (adapted from Mama's Bank Account by Kathryn Forbes) opened in NYC on 10/19/44 and ran for 713 performances. The cast includes Mady Christians, Oscar Homolka, Frances Heflin, Adrienne Gessner, Richard Bishop, Nancy Marquand, Ruth Gates, Bruno Wick, Marlon Brando, Joyce Alice Ross, Ellen Mahar, Oswald Marshall, Josephine Brown, William Pringle, Robert Antoine, Lois Holmes, Dorothy Elder, Frank Babcock, Cora Smith, Celia Babcock and Herbert Kenwith. This was 20 year old Marlon Brando's Broadway debut. His bio contains the made up history of being born in Calcutta, India and that his father was involved in geological research. Condition is near excellent with minor wear including short tears on the top edge of the front cover repaired inside with thin archive tape. CONDITION: I use a six-step condition scale to describe the overall paper quality: Mint, Excellent, Very Good, Good, Fair, Poor. Good means just that: desireable for a collection with no immediate need to upgrade. Excellent and Mint are usually reserved for publisher and music store remainders. Expect Good-minus and Fair to have considerable wear. All specific condition faults are noted after the general condition. IMAGES: I use a digital camera so the entire piece is visible.
