All digitally remastered dustjackets are shipped in a removable, Brodart or Demco archival dustjacket protector, and are ready to place on your book. Due to the scarcity of this dustjacket, I have added an embossed digital watermark to these images to avoid unauthorized duplication. The embossed watermark will NOT appear over the artwork on the front panel. The counter-stamps identifying this as a reproduction WILL appear discretely on the flaps only. About Jackets: The dustjacket offered in this auction is digitally scanned from a high quality original. The master is then carefully restored to remove any minor imperfections. This significantly enhances the eye appeal rather than just offering a color photocopy with flaws. Great care is taken to painstakingly retouch these images with emphasis on maintaining the full scope of the original artwork and preserving the texture and granularity of the original. The dustjacket is then printed on an industrial quality machine which far exceeds the image quality possible on any inkjet printer, and produces sharper, crisper images and much better color definition (tone, hue & saturation) with pleasing results. About Postage: Combined shipping: Dustjackets are shipped boxed & wrapped via USPS First Class Parcel. First remastered dustjacket is $3.00. Each additional dustjacket is only 50c. Any extra postage charged at eBay checkout will be refunded. About Title: Could you crack a safe and meet your wife waiting for you 'round the corner in your modest little roadster, and go dashing home worried only about who was going to win a certain ball game on the morrow? Do you think you could do this for a lifetime and be happy, knowing not what moment the big, red hand of the law was going to reach and grab you? Could you be happy and proud of the code you lived by? Knowing nothing so low as the man who goes back on his friends, and nothing so high and noble as he, who would go, unquestionably, to the chair itself if necessity demanded, rather than peach on a pal or break faith with his own? Here is the aristocracy of the underworld -- and its dregs with its life and its hopes, laid bare to shock and thrill you. "Boston Blackie" is a detective story of a new type, but just as thrilling and interesting as any you could have ever read. About Author: Jack Boyle [1881-1928] was a San Francisco newspaper reporter. He created the Boston Blackie character while serving a term in San Quentin. Boston Blackie first appeared in a 4 part serial in The American Magazine in 1914. Later serials followed from 1917 through 1920 in Red Book Magazine and Cosmopolitan. Boston Blackie was first portrayed on the silver screen by Bert Lytell in Boston Blackie's Little Pal. From 1919 to 1927, there were 10 additional Boston Blackie films including 2 starring Lionel Barrymore. Beginning in 1927, Chester Morris would portray the most well known version of Boston Blackie. In the original stories, Boston Blackie was a jewel thief and safecracker, while in the films he was portrayed as a detective often leading the somewhat confused Inspector Farraday [Dick Lane] to the true perpetrators of the crime. In total, he would star in fourteen Boston Blackie films produced by Columbia Pictures throughout the 1940s.
