Description: Jack's Magic® JMCOPPER5 Swimming Pool Copper & Scale Stuff Stain Solution #2 - 5 lbs Item Number: 3011478 Jack's Magic® The Copper & Scale Stuff - Stain Solution 2 provides pool owners with an easy and effective way to remove copper stains and scale buildup, while being more effective than acid-washing your pool. Stain Solution 2's powerful formula cuts through stains and scale, yet is compatible with all pool types and surfaces. This solution will save you time by eliminating hand scrubbing or pool drainage from your maintenance list, yet will be just as effective. In order to use this product safely, you must be able to bypass your heater. Note: must bypass heater when using this product. Features: The Copper & Scale Stuff (Stain Solution #2) is designed to safely and effectively remove copper stains and scale from all types of pool surfaces - without draining the pool! In most cases, The Copper & Scale Stuff is more effective than acid washing and will save you both time and money. The use of a sequester is required to filter out the stain. Note: if you have a heater on your swimming pool, you must install a bypass valve. Dosage: Add 10 lbs per 10,000 gallons of water Directions on Use: Add 1/2 gallon of muriatic (pool) acid per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Add Jack's Magic The Blue Stuff at a rate of 1 qt. per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Tip: with salt (chlorine generator) systems or high TDS (over 1200 ppm) substitute Jack's Magic The Purple Stuff at a rate of 1 qt. per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Add 10 lbs. of Stain Solution #2 per 10,000 gallons of pool water. Brush pool to make sure chemical products are completely in solution. Circulate pool continuously for the duration of the treatment; which could be as soon as 48 hours, or as long as 2 weeks. Once a week during treatment, clean filter, add chlorine (or other sanitizer). Do not shock, and raise The Blue Stuff (or The Purple Stuff) level to 20 ppm. After stains removed (may take several weeks), slowly (no more than 4 lbs. every 8 hours) begin rebalancing total alkalinity (use sodium bicarbonate only). FAQ: Can I use Stain Solution #2 with an ionizer or Nature 2 system? Yes you can, though you should call Jack’s Magic technical support for assistance. How long will the treatment take? A Stain #2 treatment can take anywhere from 48 hours to several weeks. What happens during the treatment if my dog gets into the pool? When doing a Stain #2 treatment we do not recommend pool use by people or pets due to the pH being below the normal levels. During a Stain #2 treatment the pH is often in the low 6.0 range. By comparison most soft drinks are a pH of 4 to 5. I did the #2 treatment and now I can’t get a Chlorine reading. With a Stain #2 treatment the chemical will cause a combined chlorine reading for as much as 30 days. You should not try to shock out the combined chlorine for two weeks following the treatment. Be sure that you are testing both free and total chlorine to avoid overchlorinating. When doing a #2 treatment, do I still add the acid if my Alkalinity and pH are already low?
