Juan Boza was a Cuban artist who began his career in Santería, the most widespread Afro-Cuban religion on the island. He emigrated to the United States in 1980 during the Mariel boatlift. Upon arriving in New York, his work focused on Afro-Cuban religions, which he interpreted artistically. From 1960 to 1962, he studied at the San Alejandro National School of Plastic Arts in Havana. From 1962 to 1964, he attended the National Art School (ENA) in Havana, Cuba. Throughout his career, he received awards such as the Portinari Prize in Lithography in 1967. His work is housed in collections at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) in London, UK, the Casa de las Américas in Havana, the Cintas Foundation INC in New York, USA, the Museum of the Autonomous University of Mexico in Mexico City, and the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba.JUAN BOZA. Desde 1960 a 1962 estudió en la Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas San Alejandro, La Habana. A partir de este año y hasta 1964 lo hizo en la Escuela Nacional de Arte (ENA), La Habana, Cuba. En su carrera fue acreedor de premios como en 1967 el Premio Portinari en Litografía. Exposición de La Habana 1967, Galería Latinoamericana, Casa de las Américas, La Habana. En 1968 el Premio.
