Description: This is an original antique Scientific American magazine supplement number 651. It is the June 23, 1888 edition, the supplement being much harder to find than the magazine. It's in newspaper type form measuring about 12 X 16 inches in size and about 16 pages. Has some illustration, some type of engraving, but these are so full of scientific stuff, how things work, what's going on in the patent world, etc. Normal light age wear, crinkling around the edges, but not bad. Some of the highlights in this issue: Cover shows the New Promenade Pier at St. Leonard's-On-Sea (I'm pretty sure that's by Hastings in England) There is a blueprint of sorts on the next couple pages of the pier and some description. Engraving of Laferrere locomotive for broad and narrow gauges railroad as well as a Priestman Brothers improved petroleum engine. An engraving for Improved High Span Bridge with Low Termini - this is a crazy one with spiral road up, it says it was meant for Amsterdam. Illustration and article on the Bussiere Disappearing Turret. How to Construct a Table Spectroscope by A.F. Miller, an article on the Wyoming Oil fields and it's quality. An obituary/biography of Barnabas Bartol, the second lecture on electricity by W.H. Preece. This will be more clear than the digital photo shows.
