Description: Remarkably clean vintage 6105-8000 Vietnam era Seiko dive watch from 1969, the second year this model was made and an especially early example to find. Seiko's second dive watch, part of the famous trio with the 62MAS and the Captain Willard made famous in Apocalypse Now. This 6105 model could be called the skinny Captain Willard model, with more of a tonneau case and easier on the wrist as an everyday wearing watch. Incredibly sharp original dial and bezel that really pop on this example. One of the most iconic vintage dive watches today. All the work has been done for you to just add this to your collection and enjoy it. Just back from a complete overhaul by one of our professional watchmakers, plus it comes with three new bands included. With its original hacking Seiko caliber 6105A movement, just oiled, timed and fitted with a new mainspring. We've installed a waffle finish strap a reproduction that is just like the original, plus we're including both small and big holes tropic type dive bands. This one is an excellent all-original example throughout. A Proof/Proof model, signed Waterproof on the dial and back. Has the quick-set calendar date display activated by the first stem position, with the second setting position activated for the hacking seconds and to set the hands. The movement is aesthetically nearly pristine. Clear original crystal with a few tiny scratches. Original satin finish case with only tiny dings. Nearly perfect bi-directional bezel (doesn't ratchet) with a darkened pip. Light scratches across the back. Original SEIKO signed crown. As collectors, we always strive to find watches like this: the best possible condition model available. Let the lesser ones go by. Perfectly sized, compared to the bigger Seiko Turtles some feel are too bulky; this watch measures 41mm across (not counting crown) and 48mm top to bottom. Has 19mm lugs compared to the 22mm lugs on the chunkier models. When reviewing the many photos, which serve as a large part of the description here, keep in mind they are all magnified 2.5X to 5X to show all characteristics of this watch clearly. But, keep in mind macro pictures show things you won't notice in person in normal viewing, like tiny marks on the bezel, case or crystal.
