The school became famous for its approach to design, which attempted to unify individual artistic vision with the principles of mass production and emphasis on function. In addition to Gropius, famous artists and architects affiliated with the Bauhaus movement were Mies van der Rohe, Paul Klee, Wassily Kandinsky and Anni Albers.
