Description: Kenneth Leon Gore was born in 1911 in Illinois. He studied at the Meinzinger Art School in Detroit. He became an active member of the Rockport and Gloucester art colony in Massachusetts, as well as the Brown County art colony in Indiana. In the 1950s, he moved to Gloucester, where he eventually became president of the North Shore Art Association. He taught and led workshops in the Cape Ann area and was also a member of the Rockport Art Association. Gore was best known for his shore and landscape scenes around Cape Ann, often using a unique technique with thick paint applied with a palette knife, creating a textured, almost 3D effect. He passed away in 1990. The painting titled Annisquam Lighthouse depicts a serene coastal scene with the lighthouse standing among rocky terrain, capturing the natural beauty of the Cape Ann area.
