Description: Approx 4.5”h 4.25“w 5”l This piece was not broken, I applied Kintsugi lines with the same blend of contemporary and traditional Kintsugi I use for my broken pieces. They are patterned similar to Kylo Ren’s reconstructed helmet. Collage pictured is a small collection of my Kintsugi work for reference. The ancient art of Japanese Kintsugi serves as a metaphor for healing oneself. Broken pottery is not discarded, but mended with the cracks highlighted in gold or silver. In life flawed paths are left behind; no need to hide them away in the depths of despair. Taking time to turn in and embrace flaws heightens internal awareness. Spotlighting the negative to gain sight of positivity; revealing a stronger, enlightened version of oneself. Scars left where you grew, shining your way through even when you felt you couldn’t.
