Wikipedia: Capodimonte porcelain (sometimes "Capo di Monte") is porcelain created by the Capodimonte porcelain manufactory (Real Fabbrica di Capodimonte), which operated in Naples, Italy, between 1743 and 1759. Capodimonte is the most outstanding factory for early Italian porcelain, Capodimonte is most famous for its molded figurines. The porcelain of Capodimonte, and later Naples, was a "superb" translucent soft-paste, "more beautiful" but much harder to fire than the German hard-pastes, or "a particularly clear, warm, white, covered with a mildly lustrous glaze".The Capodimonte mark was a fleur-de-lys in blue, or impressed in relief inside a circle.170 plates in color and back/white illustrating examples of their porcelain output. 252 pages in all. Clean and tightly bound hardcover book bound with a white faux vellum spine with a maroon leather label with gilt titles over brown paper covered boards, gilt coat of arms to front board with the following noted defects: white spine with grubby marks; minor wear to edges of leather label; lowers corners of boards rubbed; corners bruised; a few dirty marks to front board; end sheets age toned, otherwise the book is Very Good Plus Condition.
