Description: This Beautiful Lamson & Goodnow Antique Mother Of Pearl & Sterling Handle Dessert/Fruit Knife Set of 5 with Stainless Steel Blade Made in USA is preowned. There is no damage noted to the set. There are no cracks, chips, or missing Mother of Pearl. The Sterling Silver and stainless steel has no corrosion, marring, or dents. There is light surface wear due to age and normal use. There is "patina" to the Sterling Silver bands, which I will leave as some feel an item is ruined if it is polished away. This set is in good condition. Please see pictures as your opinion may differ from mine. Pictures were taken outside on an overcast day. Each handle is made of Mother of Pearl with a Sterling Silver band embossed in a floral motif. "STERLING" is on each band. The blades are made from stainless steel. Lamson & Goodnow Stainless Made in USA is on blade. Lamson & Goodnow was established in 1837 in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts. They are currently the worlds oldest cutlery manufacturer and are still producing high quality knives in Westfield Massachusetts. They still operate a factory outlet in Shelburne Falls. I am unsure of the exact age of this set, but it belonged to my grandmother. Each knife is approximately 6 1/4 inches in length. Beautiful set to gift to that special someone or to add to your table.
