His usual technique employed transparent watercolor over pen and ink drawings. The drawings are usually quick and graceful, allowing him to capture a rapidly changing scene, in this case a large, lovely painting of the Madeleine Church as seen from Place de la Madeleine. The architectural detail is beautifully captured. The many uniformed pedestrians suggest late 1940's. We've included a later photograph - it hasn't changed much, although the watercolor was painted in the first half of the 20th century. This is one of his larger works, with a sight size of 18”x 23” and framed size of 26.5”x 31.5”. The piece is single matted, backed with foam core, and presented in a very nice finished corner gold frame. The gold frame is about the age of the painting, although not original. The condition of painting and mat is excellent; the frame condition is very good for the age. It presents beautifully. Prints of Neyrac's watercolors are abundant and often sold on eBay as watercolors, although I haven't seen any prints this large. We know the difference. This is an original watercolor. Because of the size, it will be shipped without glazing. Several past sale references are included in the images.
