Description: This antique letter organizer was made with advertising embossed under the spring holder, which reads “B&P Lawrence, Proprietors”. It also indicates that it was patented in 1866 by James Adair and reissued in 1868. I reversed the 2nd picture and saved it as the 3rd picture so it's easier to read (like holding up to a mirror). It is a pressed brass plate with holes on either end, intended to allow the letter holder to be mounted on a desktop or wall. Condition: It is in good antique condition with normal wear, but no rust and all of the pieces seem present. However, one end of the spring has come loose from the weld. I inserted the spring back into the hole temporarily. If intended for actual use, you may want to heat up the sodder and see if you can resecure the spring more permanentley. There is also a small crease in the metal near one of the holes which is barely noticeable (see close-up picture). Measures 6.5” long, 1.5” wide, and 1” tall. Seller Notes: All photos are of the actual item you will receive and my pictures are considered as much of the description as my words. I do my best to provide the best possible service to the bidders of my items. If you have a question or need additional pictures, please message me prior to bidding. After you receive the item, please leave feedback on Ebay and I will do the same for you. (1)
