Description: Lledo Days Gone Diecast ModelDG6145 Ford Model T VanCannes Incentive Show 1996 Extremely Rare Jack Odell, one of the founders of the Matchbox diecast company, founded Lledo (Odell backwards) in 1982, and launched the "Days Gone" range of models in 1983, serving a market previously popularised by the Matchbox "Models of Yesteryear" series. The Model T Ford Van has been a staple of the Days Gone range since 1983 and has appeared in hundreds of different liveries. The promotional market became Lledo's bread and butter, with the Model T Van proving a favourite for companies and organisations who would order limited runs of the model with their own livery, for marketing and promotional purposes. Lledo themselves would also use such promotional models as trade incentives for retailers and giveaways at trade shows. This model, with its distinctive and colourful pattern of barcodes, was produced by Lledo to give away to clients at the annual TF Incentive Show in Cannes in 1996. Lledo had exhibited at the show in previous years and traditionally produced an exclusive model to give away. As the Cannes Show model was only produced in very small numbers, the models produced for the previous four years' shows had been given "promotional" status, with an "LP" prefix to their catalogue numbers, but for some reason, the 1996 model was allocated a mainstream "DG" (Days Gone) number. However, given the small number produced and the restricted distribution, it was near impossible for the many worldwide collectors of the regular Days Gone models to obtain this model. It has, therefore, become very difficult to find. Excellent used condition in original box. Box has minimal wear, and no rips, splits or taped-up corners. There is some writing on one end flap of the box where a previous owner, an avid collector of Lledo models, has recorded brief details about the model. Model itself is clean and near mint condition.
