The basket is woven with “shoe-string” splints in spice orange, sage green, tan, and medium dark brown splints; the up-splints are cinnamon colored. The basket’s dark deep brown rim is trimmed with a tan overlay splint. The basket’s bottom is the reinforced woven bottom. The basket’s splints have no known cracks nor broken splints. Like Longaberger’s Market Basket offerings, this basket has two dark chocolate colored wood ‘swing’ handles fasten with copper rivets. The set has a protector, that is also in excellent condition. Included in the auction is the beautiful dark chocolate brown wooden lid that has the wooden knob and the copper-colored floral knob - fashioned in the design of sage leaves and berries, referred to as “bittersweet”. The approximate size of the basket is: 14-7/8” L x 7-3/4” W x 7-1/4” H.
