Description: Up for bid is a wonderful vintage 1993 lot of 52 pieces maps brochure schedules from when Amtrak was going to strike, and the LIRR access to Penn Station was to be severed for the strike. These pamphlets heavily cover how customers can transter to the subway from the Long Island Railroad in Nassau County and where they could do it. NYC Subway Map, transfer maps, LIRR Maps, etc. (7 map brochures and 48 sheet pamphlets). Some interesting aspects were the use of the old Richmond Hill station on the LIC Lower Montauk Branch. At the time, the station was still officially open (abandoned 1998), and was to be heavily used as a transfer point to the Jamaica El J trains to the NYC Subway. See photos for what's included. Very interesting reading. What a wonderful step back in time!!
