Description: This is for two authentic original vintage rayon dresses from the 1930s 1940s they do have many flaws and you can read about them below. I have steamed both dresses and though they do have a vintage scent like they've been packed away for a while it is nothing pregnant or repulsive and a good dry cleaning at home would likely remedy that. Just remember you can't wash rayon from the 1930s and 1940s it has to be dry cleaned or spot cleaned. First dress: This is a late 1930s early 1940s vintage rayon dress. It is embroidered on the pockets bodice and it's a navy blue. The dress fabric was likely once a beautiful lilac color but over time it has completely faded into a multiple tone of the palace pink to pale lilac all throughout the dress is faded in spots. There are a few stains I have not tried to remove and there are several tears and holes as you can see in the photographs below. The structure of the dress is intact it zips up the back with a metal zipper sheared at the waist cap sleeves turn down color v-neck in the front pink shears there is no lining. It is very lightweight the pockets are gorgeous and this fabric seems very sturdy so I'm guessing that something chewed on it at one time. I was even thinking you could take the pockets and make cute little shoulder bags out of them,,, if you wanted to, and even make a purse out of the bodice. I went to it myself but I just don't have the time or space to do it right now and it's such a lovely dress with potential and I'm passing it on to you! The measurements for this dress are listed under specifics and it is a full swing skirt at the hem or very close to it! Second dress: The second dress is a 1930s rayon novelty floral day dress with a built-in tablet bolero with ruffles it buttons up the left side for closure there are several tiny holes throughout like pencil eraser size and a larger two larger holes at the neckline the fabric seems sturdy and strong and it's really pretty you could make anything out of this or you could rework it to wear it. I ran out of photograph space so I'm going to have to really describe this dress to you it is cut on the bias it's got a roost pleated ruffle the sleeves are typical 1930s ruching for a puff look it's got a v-neck in the front and it's got one three snaps on the left side for closure I said buttons earlier but it's really snaps it's a nice lady fabric at the same time it's lightweight it's a true 1930s rayon fabric. Sort of a straight dress from there from the bias from the waist and here are the measurements; 43" shoulder to hem 36" bust 32" waist 32" hips The jacket is a faux jacket and it is sewn into the dress... And it's only visible like that from the front and the back of the dress is just straight nothing special.
