Description: This clock has a hand painted face with the clockworks in a beautiful mahogany cabinet with kingwood inlays. The face is bracketed in the front by full columns with brass capitals and 3 brass finials at the cabinet top. Made by W. Nicholas of Birmingham England with the face painting done by Lawrence of Birmingham this piece dates to sometime between 1793 and 1822. This clock runs and chimes but has not been cleaned nor tuned since 2011. Overall, very good condition given its age, but the small dials (seconds and day of the week) are faded as is the Lawrence of Birmingham signature. The cabinet may have occasional small scratches and dents (see pictures). It has a 7-day movement, and the original winding crank and cabinet key are included as is a bottle of gear lubricant. 94 inches tall by 22 inches wide by 10 inches deep. NOTE: Local pick-up only.
