Description: Maxfield Parrish’s “Autumn” - Original “Unframed” Color Illustration (Frontispiece) from F. T. Palgrave’s 1911 First Edition of ‘The Golden Treasury Of Songs And Lyrics’ with tissue lining still attached. The image measures 7 1/4” x 5”; Outermost page dimensions are 9 1/2”x 7 1/4”. Parrish signature discernible bottom left corner (photo #7). A great seasonal piece. “Autumn” was originally painted for, and appeared as the color cover of the October 28, 1905 issue of Collier’s Magazine, issued as a print (quite rare, I might add) the same year, and finally as the Frontispiece in the 1911 Francis Palgrave publication and several subsequent editions. Quite a nice cost/size alternative to the print (Ref. Flacks, 4th, page 36, last photo #12).
