Description: RARE McKee #410 Beacon InnovationVintage 1920s 10 1/4” Cylinder vase COMPANY MAKER / BRAND: The McKee Glass Company ITEM Innovation Cut Glass Line Amber Vase CIRCA: Early 1920s COLOR: Amber MARK: Not Marked MEASUREMENT: 10 1/4" - W. - 5 1/4" H. CONDITION: Stunningly beautiful, this 1920s, #410 Beacon Innovation 10 1/4” Cylinder vase is rare in the amber color. Produced in the 1920s by the McKee Glass Company of Jeannette PA, this lovely vase is Prescut (McKee's term for this style of pressed glass.) Our vase is in Undamaged Condition without chips, cracks, or mold damage. The precut design of raised buttons is awesome and is well done. Embedded in the center of the vase is a striking floral motif. A couple of common sheer marks / straw marks are in the bottom of the vase. This is to be expected with pieces of glass this large. This is not considered to be damage, it is part of the glass forming process and simply adds to the beauty of this magnificent piece. Innovation Line - (Crystal , Amber Transparent, Pink Transparent, Green Transparent, Pink Satin, Green Satin, Amber Satin) McKee introduced its Innovation Line in 1916. Innovation was a mixture of Early American Pressed Glass and Brilliant cut glass. Each piece was mold-pressed and then hand wheel cut with a floral pattern or other design. The majority of the Innovation designs were assigned to the McKee Glass Company, but several other companies such as Imperial and Tiffin produced Innovation designs with different cuttings. At least 24 different pieces were available in the Innovation Line. McKee produced numbers 410, 408, 411, 412, 414, 415, 417, 420, 800, 1024, 1030,1031 and 3407. Named patterns included Knox, Blazer, Buzz Star, Lily Pippia, Almot, Bud, Harvard, Ansonia, Snappy and Tiger Lily. These items were not signed or backstamped. Each piece came with a paper label. Innovation was listed in McKee's 1923 catalog and was gradually discontinued over the next few years. Snappy was patented under the the design number 53942. The patent for the Snappy design was granted to Maurice A. Smith on October of 1919. This pattern has two flowers with sprigs of leaves. US POSTAGE AND INSURANCE ON THIS PRETTY PIECE IS CALCULATED.
