Description: Mexican Revolution Border War Real Photo Postcard Huerta served under President Francisco Madero as an army chief-of-staff and eventually assassinated Madero to assume the presidency himself. His dictatorial regime was opposed by revolutionary forces who called for a civil war. Huerta served as president from Feb 18, 1913 - July 15, 1914, when he was forced to step down. During World War I, while intriguing with German spies, he was arrested by the US Army. He died while in US custody in 1916. photographer: W.H.
