Description: Offered for sale is this rare, very limited un-numbered edition of the Sotheby's 2003 auction catalog for the Farnsworth House in Plano, IL along the Fox River designed by architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. This hardbound auction catalog has a plexiglass front cover with the title FARNSWORTH etched on the plexiglass. The interior pages in color and black and white are French fold to add bulk to this 42-page catalog. The dimensions are 8-1/4" in height and 10-3/4" in width. The back cover and spine are steel. Modern furniture was included in the sale of the house as noted. Text relates to the Rt. Hon. Lord Palumbo of Walbrook, the owner of the house at the time of the Sotheby's auction in 2003, with photos of construction and of the finished house built for the original owner Dr. Edith Farnsworth from 1945 to 1951 by architect and designer Ludwig Mies van der Rohe.
